SLEEEEP

Good morning

I just slept more than 5 hours uninterrupted!

Since leaving the US, I’ve been staggering around with 2-4 hours of sleep a day.

“But, hey, you have that big comfy bed! You could just flop forward on it and sleep away the day.”

No.

You would break your face. Chip a tooth. Lose a spot of blood or two.

Not really, but traditional Thai (and Korean) beds are not to be underestimated. They should be handled with respect. General Shang did not make a man out of Mulan; Asian beds did.

When sleeping on Thai beds, learn to sleep on your front or back. Side sleeping is a luxury I didn’t know I had. I’m sorry for that. I will respect it properly henceforth.

BUTTTTT I am absolutely going to miss everything else about this lovely hostel, from the elaborate gardens to the onsite cafe and the gracious host.

EDIT: In a fit of genius , I put the pillows under me. It’s like sleeping on a balance beam, but side sleeping returns. Now, if I could just find the earplugs for those nocturnal songbirds.
